When I left Chicago I only brought the bare minimum with me that I was able to cram with me into my Toyota Corolla, which meant only 2 guitars, a bass and my solid but ancient and bulky 2016 iMac, it was already showing signs of being too old in terms of being able to load the latest versions of any current plug-ins but was able to still support Serum. I resolved to test the “it’s the artist, not the tool” approach by using only stock (meaning steinberg built in) tools. I really really miss my Camel Phat filter, that along with the waves plugs have been my go to tools. The bummer of recording gear is that at some point you will always need to update to keep things working. Found out about this remix contest only two weeks before the deadline and quickly worked to submit something halfway decent.
