Revaux and Melinki Totem EP (review)

I absolutely love discovering new music, particularly drum and bass, and especially from independent artists as well as smaller labels, I’m not too concerned if it’s the latest and greatest or if it came out yesterday as long as I’m feeling the release. Last week I happened across a twitter post from @arrecords_uk that let to me scrolling their feed, and there was a post mentioning that their vinyl release of the “Totem EP” had arrived, so I checked out their website….yes…I actually surf sites…shocking I know.

After listening to the samples from the AR Records site embedded media player I knew the release was right up my alley, and I purchased the digital release as a labor day gift to myself. First off, for the record, with this EP,  Revaux and Melinki have crafted four tracks of quality top notch production Drum and Bass, …respect guys.

The Totem EP brings a good representation of my favorite sub genres of drum and bass, both the title track “Totem” and “Swordplay” have a nice techy vibe with elements of neuro. “Overpass” starts out with a silky smooth liquid vibe, but eases in elements of tech, neuro and Mc Ozone spits some lyrics on the techy “Unorthodox” which also feels reminiscent of a metalheadz approved track, and that’s very much intended as a compliment. Big up. Check out Revaux and Melinki, you wont regret it, useful links below:
